Online Acting, Theater, FIlm/TV, Screenwriting, and Playwriting Classes

Ferrell Studios provides remote performing arts instruction taught by nurturing expert instructors in a variety of disciplines including acting, musical theater, public speaking, playwriting, screenwriting, cinematography, commercial acting, TV/Film, and more! We offer a variety of formats including private 1:1 lessons, group semester courses, and drop-in courses to meet your needs! Our courses can be used for extracurriculars, acting and audition preparation, and homeschooling and our classes cater ages 6-18, leveled by age.

Our Classes

  • Students in our acting programs explore the fundamentals of higher-level acting technique through meaningful and engaging activities and exercises in a fun and nurturing environment! Each activity will target a different component of various acting technique, including, but not limited to, Meisner, Stanislavski, and Uta Hagen. Each week learners will delve into exhibiting truthfulness, moment-to-moment impulses, relationships, identifying objectives, using tactics to complete objectives, and script analysis.

  • Our musical theater programs introduce students to the fundamentals of acting, voice, and dance through a variety of fun and engaging games, activities, and exercises. Students will not only acquaint themselves with the skills required to be a successful performer but also build confidence as well as critical reading comprehension, verbal, social, and emotional skills.

  • Our public speaking classes explore the foundations of communication, methods of communication and practical applications of public speaking. Learners will develop the necessary confidence and skills to present your ideas clearly and effectively to both large and small audiences.

  • Our playwriting classes are designed for students who are interested in exploring the world of playwriting. This class will provide a supportive and creative environment for young writers to learn the basics of playwriting and to develop their own unique voice as a playwright.

  • Theater is not just about acting; it's about storytelling, design, history, and culture. This program aims to offer a holistic understanding of theater, covering everything from the basics of theater to the roles of professionals and the cultural context of theater.

    We will combine reading, discussions, activities, and video viewings to create an engaging and interactive learning experience. Students will do some reading and assignments outside of class time, and we will spend our time together discussing the content, analyzing plays, and engaging in theater-related activities.

  • We offer film and television classes in acting, cinematography, commercial production, and self-taping. Classes focus around on-camera acting as it pertains to the learnerโ€™s comfortability with the camera, scene study, and learning the film acting techniques that can be applied to the professional Film & TV industry.
